The MCRNet brings together the Jesus College MCR calendar, your sign-ups, notices, room bookings, Feedback, meetings and minutes, and officer contacts. Access is through your University account. The intranet is private and maintained by the MCR committee. It is not an official Jesus College publication.
This appears on sign-up lists and next to anything you post. Everything else comes from your University account.
Update the name, role and photograph shown on your committee entry.
Subscribe to all MCR events. The calendar updates automatically and shows every event, whether you have signed up or not.
Your personal calendar includes the events you have signed up for. Choose a reminder below. Reminders come from your calendar, rather than by email from the app.
Reset the link if you have shared it by mistake. This creates a new link and disables the old one.
Records access checks and changes to sensitive settings. Only the president can open this log.
The account and CRSid come from Google sign-in. Entries cannot be cleared from the app.
Listed members are recognised as committee when they sign in. Keep their names, roles and teams up to date.
Administrators can manage events, non-welfare messages and committee records. The president’s administrator access is permanent.
Leave the list empty to allow Cambridge accounts. To restrict access, add one CRSid or email address per line.
Only the president can change the recognised vice-president addresses. This grants access to the shared committee settings. Private feedback records remain available only to the president.
Add events for the term, including those that repeat every week or fortnight.
Tag a one-off event as formal to show it under Formals.
Clearing removes scheduled events and repeating entries. Confirmed MCR bookings are kept. This cannot be undone.
Add each crew’s starting position and four daily results. The chart appears on Today during Bumps week and for two days afterwards.
Tick a subject to show it. Untick it to hide it and its questions. Existing answers are kept.
These notes appear in committee editors to keep notices and replies consistent. Add one note per line.
Members see their own answers until you publish the results. Publish each subject or question separately to share its averages, counts and comments. You can withdraw it later.
Choose who receives alerts when a member submits a request. Alerts link to the app and do not include private messages.
Leave the address empty to turn off notifications.
Check the sending account and latest delivery below. Messages use the delivery method selected here.
If an email was sent but has not arrived, check your inbox and junk folder. Add the sending address to Outlook’s safe senders if needed.
Send tests to compare the available methods, then choose the one that reaches your inbox.
If no test arrives, check the sending account’s permissions and your mail filters.
Manage the forms and links shown to members. Changes appear after the app refreshes.
Edit the app’s headings, buttons and guidance directly on the page. You can restore the original wording at any time.
Members’ messages, event content and names keep their own editors.
Remove mistaken entries or clear records from a finished year. This does not post a cancellation notice or notify members. Deletion cannot be undone.
See what’s on at Jesus, book the MCR room, read notices and reach your committee. Sign in with your Cambridge account.
The MCR committee runs this private intranet. It is not an official College publication.
By signing in you agree to the MCR holding your name, your University address and what you put your name down for, under the UK GDPR.
Who holds it. The Jesus College MCR committee, as the data controller. The app runs on the MCR's own Google account and nothing is sold, shared with advertisers, or sent outside it.
What we hold. Your name and your University email address, taken from your Cambridge Google account when you sign in. After that: what you sign up for, what you put on the board, the room bookings you ask for, the threads you open, and how you answer a question in Feedback. Nothing else. We never see or store a password.
Why we may hold it. Because you are a member of the MCR and running the MCR needs it: a list at a door, a room that is not double booked, and an answer that reaches the person who asked. An answer in Feedback is saved with your name against it, and that name is seen by the MCR President and the Vice-President and by nobody else, including the rest of the committee. Where the committee has marked a question as asked without names, no address is saved against your answer at all, only a one way code that cannot be turned back into you.
Who sees it. Other members see your name next to something you put up. The committee sees the running of it. A welfare thread is read by that one officer and the President, and by nobody else, and you may send it without your name at all. In Feedback, the President and the Vice-President see the name against an answer. The rest of the committee reads the same words with no name on them. Who gave which score can be opened by the President alone, and every time it is opened it is written down. A question marked as asked without names is outside all of that: it keeps no address, so there is nothing for anybody to open.
How long. While you are a member, and for the academic year afterwards, after which it is cleared out. A welfare thread is cleared sooner.
Your rights. You may ask to see what is held about you, to have it corrected, or to have it deleted, and you may withdraw from anything you have said yes to. Write to president@mcr.jesus.cam.ac.uk and it will be dealt with within a month. If you are not satisfied you may complain to the Information Commissioner at ico.org.uk.
Use your @cam.ac.uk address. No new password needed.
